What actually happens during a photo shoot!

Anything can really happen on a photo shoot. I have many examples of small mishaps of photographing children. Sometimes we have family portraits where two siblings are fighting and tripping each other over in the mud. Or a newborn is crying or has dirtied their nappy.

Some photo shoots go through without a hiccup. When I do photo shoots with anyone or with families, I try to make sure everyone enjoys themselves and has fun. I often play a mix of music, that always relaxes both adults and children alike.

I bring toys in for small children or if out on location to make sure there are things ready for when the family arrives. Even couples tend to get nervous, so making people feel at ease is what I ensure in my business.

Sometimes when disasters happen and kids mess up their clothes or it starts raining that I capture some of the most wonderful photographs.  Sometimes Mother Nature can be a blessing at times.

It’s not about having perfect moments in life, it’s capturing those moments amongst the chaos.

The more natural the photo, the better the result. You can never predict what actually happens during a photo shoot, as everyone is different, but that’s what makes it so special.
